About
For over 40 years, Robert Klemm has been working to help farmers in central Illinois maximize strategic tax planning to grow their business, plan for the future, and ensure something special.
In 1975, with a young family and a budding farming career, Robert began preparing taxes in the back of the Dewitt County Farm Bureau building. With perfect timing to offset the farming seasons, he enjoyed using his skills to help farmers and families plan and prepare their taxes. Since then, and upon moving permanently to Lincoln, Klemm has served the central Illinois farming community with unmatched tax consultation.
While building Klemm Tax Service from the ground up, Klemm continued to farm, first with his father, Walter, until eventually taking the helm of the centennial family farm. Much like the farming business, Klemm Tax Service has always been a family affair. He and his wife, Patty, have three grown children, Olivia, John, and Aaron whom many customers have enjoyed watching grow up through the family pictures on his office wall.
Klemm serves on the DeWitt County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, serving as treasurer and building committee chairman, and was a charter member of the DeWitt County Farm Bureau Foundation. He also serves District 11 on the Illinois Farm Bureau Board of Directors. He is also is a past IFB Young Leaders district discussion meet winner. Klemm is a member of the Illinois Corn Growers Association, Illinois Soybean Association and Logan County Soil Savers, the treasurer of the Logan County Fair Foundation, and is a past board member for the Illinois Association of Tax Practitioners. He and his family are active members of Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln, serving as past chairman, vice chairman, building project chairman, usher, committeeman and video operator.
Klemm graduated from Illinois State University in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in applied science and technology.
